Simple Dome Construction Techniques
We strive to keep our domes simple in material and technique.
They must be maintained by owners far away and so we use only fasteners
and materials that are common to the customer.
We provide instructional
material with each kit and free online or telephone support to assure
you of success.

About Littlewood Dome Construction
There are basically two elelments to our basic dome home
construction and building.
- Struts - these are the long pieces of
wood, aluminium, steel or other material.
- Connecting plates - the struts are bolted
or lag screwed together at the connectors forming the skeleton of your
new dome home.

Simple Dome Bolting Techniques.
While there are many variables in our custom domes, all
of them use the same basic techniques and tools to get the job done in
a day or so.

Why a Geodesic Dome?
- Solid - The dome shaped structure is extremely rigid when anchored
to the ground, yet the mass is less than 1000 lb's including the cover.
- Efficient - Only 120 2x4's or 2x6's using three differant lengths
are required to build the basic shelter.
- Open Floor Space - A geodesic dome roof requires no support pillars.
Arrange your materials as you wish on an open floor 37 feet across.
It also works well as a roof for a two story building.
- High Ceiling - Unlike a conventional garage package with 8' walls
and conventional trusses, our domes give a 16 feet high vaulted ceiling.
It is comparable to working in a shop with a 12' high ceilng.
Why a Littlewood Geodesic Dome
- Easy to Build - We have made it easy to build with colour-coded pieces
that bolt together, red to red, green to green, etc. Hand tools and
a 10 foot section of scaffold are all you need to build our kit.
- Transportable - Disassembled, any of these packages will fit in the
back of a 3/4 ton truck.
